THE SOLEMNITY OF THE ASCENSION OF OUR LORD

THURSDAY 29th MAY

The Ascension is a Holyday, so we should all do our best to attend Mass today and celebrate Our Lord’s return to Heaven. Masses are at 11:00am and 7:30pm.

CHURCH CLEAN

There will be a group church clean on Thursday 29th May at 9:30am. Please come and help if you are able. Thank you. 

SECOND COLLECTION

There will be a second collection after the masses 30th May & 1 June for World Communication Day. 

IMPORTANT: NOTE FOR OUR CONTEMPORARY MUSIC GROUP

Our apologies, but we’ve cancelled our practice set for next Thursday evening as it is the feast of the Ascension. Instead, we suggest that, for the 11am Mass on Sunday, 1st June, we all arrive by 10.30am so that we can have a quick practice before Mass starts.

BILLY-THE-DOG PUTS HIS PAWS UP

On behalf of Billy, Iain would like to thank all the wonderful parishioners who supported Billy. Not only with your sponsorship, but also with encouragement and good wishes. Billy and Iain had great fun on their “Billgrimage”. We have just totalled up all the sponsorship, including on the JustGiving site, and, with gift aid, Billy has raised £2984 for Christian Aid. Amazing! 

Well done Billy, you good boy.

The Holy Land, will be visiting us on the weekend 7th – 8th June to briefly talk about the Holy Land and sell religious articles made out of Olive Wood to help and support the poor Christian families, any help you could give to them will be highly appreciated” (when you help the poor you help our Lord”).  

ST THOMAS OF CANTERBURY SUMMER CONCERT

 This year is on 28th June, 7.45pm. The evening is a mixture of orchestral and choral music that includes Bach (Double Concerto), Parry (I Was Glad), Vaughan Williams (Fantasia on Theme of Thomas Tallis), Karl Jenkin’s Adiemus, Elegy for Dunkirk and the amazing Libertango. PA to the Dean- Brentwood Cathedral

A vacancy has arisen for a PA, to provide administrative support services to the Parish Priest and Parish Office by implementing and maintaining office systems, processes and procedures and delivering a welcoming, appropriate service to those attending the parish office. The post will be full-time working 35 hours per week- Monday to Friday

The salary is £14- £15 per hour depending on experience
