First Sunday of Lent

WEEKDAY MASS TIMES

Mass times this week are: Monday at 9:30am,Tuesday NO MASS, Wednesday 9:30am, Thursday 9:30am, Friday 9:00am. Stations of the Cross at 7:00pm on Friday evening.

WHERE DID THE GLORIA AND ALLELUIA GO?

Many people wonder where the Alleluia and Gloria have gone during Lent. The instruction from the Church is to omit these during this season so that our liturgy is a little more restrained and to help us rejoice and celebrate when they return at Easter. The acclamation before the Gospel reading is usually ‘Praise to you, O Christ, King of eternal glory’ or a variation on these words. For the same reason, there are no flowers in the church during this season.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS

The Stations of the Cross is a beautiful devotion where we walk with the Lord on his way to Calvary. This week, Stations will be at 7:00pm this Friday (14th March). We will vary the times through Lent to allow as many people to attend as possible. Why not commit to coming to at least one of the Stations of the Cross this Lent to meditate on Our Lord’s Passion?
