FIRST HOLY COMMUNION GOING FORTH MASS

NOTE FOR OUR CONTEMPORARY MUSIC GROUP:
We will next be singing and playing at the 11am Mass on Sunday, 2nd June and beforehand having a practice 7 to 8pm on Tuesday, 28th May.
We were disappointed that we only had a small number of our singers at our May practice and Mass, so here’s your chance to make amends by many more of you coming to our 28th May practice and 2nd June Mass! It’s the feast of Corpus Christi, so let’s try to celebrate this lovely feast day in full force. If there are any parishioners who would like to come and sing with us, you will be made very welcome.
BAPTISMS: If there are parents wishing to have their children baptised at St. Edmund’s please could you kindly contact your parish priest Fr Adrian Lowe as soon as possible. For first time parents there is a Baptismal Programme run by Mrs Sharon Chalk. Baptisms take place on Saturdays at 12.30pm
BCCS Bear – an update!
As mentioned previously, our Parish Choir and Contemporary Music Group are this year supporting the Brentwood Catholic Children’s Society by collecting money from time to time in a BCCS box, encouraged by our cute BCCS bear mascot!
Fr Adrian has kindly agreed that we can shake the box after the 6pm, 9am and 11am masses on 25th and 26th May. If any parishioners would like to support our two choirs’ efforts by putting something in the box, this would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance and, later on, we’ll let you know how we’re getting on!

Revive; Discover; Empower’ a young adults retreat: Walsingham House are hosting a young adults retreat on the weekend of 22nd – 23rd June. The retreat is open to those who are 19+. It will be a weekend of prayer and friendship and a wonderful opportunity to take a break from work or university. BRENTWOOD CATHOLIC CHILDREN’S SOCIETY is pleased to host their first Charity Tribute Night featuring ABBA Chique at the Mill Hall Arts & Events Centre in Rayleigh on Friday 12th July from 7.30 to 11pm. Please spread the word among friends and family, join them at this special anniversary event and get ready to dance and sing along to your favourite ABBA hits! FOOD BANK DONATIONS: The box for the donations has moved. It is no longer in the garage. It is now tucked away in the parent and baby room (to the left as you enter the church). Thank you very much for making donations, they are greatly needed at the moment.
