This year is on 28th June, 7.45pm. The evening is a mixture of orchestral and choral music that includes Bach (Double Concerto), Parry (I Was Glad), Vaughan Williams (Fantasia on Theme of Thomas Tallis), Karl Jenkin’s Adiemus, Elegy for Dunkirk and the amazing Libertango.  A Catholic Bible convention and Healing ministry on Saturday  21st June 2025 from 1.30 pm to 5 pm led by Fr. BRENTWOOD CATHOLIC YOUTH SERVICE – MONTHLY YOUTH MASS

On Thursday 5th June, Youth Mass will be held at Brentwood Cathedral, with a workshop looking at the key themes of Pentecost, and how we live out discipleship in the modern world. BILLY-THE-DOG PUTS HIS PAWS UP

CHANGE TO STAMP DONATIONS

Thank you to all parishioners who have donated used stamps over the years which were given to  Chigwell Covent by Teresa who handles the Repository. Sr. Pierina has now left Chigwell Convent for Uxbridge and she was the one who dealt with the stamps. The convent is unable to accept further donations of stamps. We will be looking into whether or not  a Primary School may want to take this project on to collect the stamps. 

Billy-The-Dog’s “Walsingham Walkies” for Christian Aid Week 2025

Billy is getting really excited about his fundraising for Christian Aid: lots of bouncing up and down and tail wagging whenever we chat about it. This year he had heard that some Parishioners were walking to the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham from St Magnus Church in the City of London. His little legs won’t manage that distance in a week, he is such a tiny boy, but each day in Christian Aid Week, 11-17th May, he will be out walking a section of the “The Walsingham Camino”. Our aim will be to walk from The City of London to Ware in Hertfordshire, collecting our Pilgrim Camino stamps from churches on the way. Iain and Billy will be around after masses if you would like to sponsor Billy, or you can go to JustGiving and search for “Loughton Christian Aid” and make a donation. If you do that please mention Billy in your comment, he just loves that.

DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY

is the second Sunday of Easter, 27 April, 2025. There will be Divine Mercy devotions at 3pm with Confessions heard afterwards. Why not come along for about half an hour and experience God’s mercy in this beautiful time of prayer.

NOTE FOR OUR CONTEMPORARY MUSIC GROUP

We will next be singing and playing at the 11am Mass on Sunday, 4th May and holding a practice beforehand on Monday, 28th April, 7 to 8pm in the Choir loft. 

We look forward to seeing you all at the practice as well as the Mass and to welcome any new singers or musicians who may like to join our friendly group!

If there are parents wishing to have their children baptised at St. Edmund’s please could you kindly contact your parish priest Fr Adrian Lowe as soon as possible. For first time parents there is a Baptismal Programme run by Mrs Sharon Chalk. Baptisms take place on Saturdays at 12.30pm
