Praying for All Souls
In our Catholic tradition, November is the month of remembrance of the deceased members of our families, friends and loved ones. As is customary, there are brown envelopes at the back of the church in which you may place the names of those who you wish to pray for, together with any offering you would like to make. The lists will be placed by the altar at all Masses from Holy Souls Day onwards. Please post your envelopes through the presbytery letterbox or pass to Fr. Adrian.
Remembrance Sunday
The 8th of November is Remembrance Sunday. Following the 11am mass, at 12:15, there will be the traditional Loughton Remembrance service at Kings Green by the war memorial with the local community and local children’s uniform groups. All are welcome. After the service everyone parades back to our church hall for soup and cake.
The Sacrament of the Sick
This is one of the seven sacraments in the Catholic Church. It is a sacrament of healing given to provide spiritual, and sometimes physical, strength to those facing serious illness, surgery, or the physical frailty of old age. This advent, there will be a service of healing for those seriously impaired by sickness or frailty at 2:30pm on Saturday 5 December with refreshments provided in the church hall by our parish SVP group. More details will follow in forthcoming newsletters.
Children’s Liturgy Volunteers Needed
We are looking for volunteers to join the children’s Liturgy group. We are groups of mums, who take it in turns to lead the children’s sessions at 11am mass on Sundays. Several pairs have had to step down, as our children are older and now have other commitments. We work in pairs, and any volunteers will be added to an existing pair while they learn the ropes.
If you are interested, or have any questions please get in touch with either Sam 07946 138307
or Danielle 07725 646861
First Holy Communion-Parents Meeting
