CHRISTIAN AID WEEK, HOW DID BILLY DO? Billy-the-dog (and Iain) want to thank all the wonderful parishioners who sponsored Billy for his Essex Adventure. We had a wonderful time visiting such lovely ancient churches and going to parts of Essex we didn’t even know existed. Billy just loved it. He was up early every morning, standing by the door with his lead in his mouth and his tail wagging. The Parish has been so kind sponsoring Billy and, with Gift Aid, he has raised just over £3000, just amazing. Thank you very much, “woof-woof”.

NOTE FOR OUR CONTEMPORARY MUSIC GROUP:
We will next be singing and playing at the 11am Mass on Sunday, 2nd June and beforehand having a practice 7 to 8pm on Tuesday, 28th May.
We were disappointed that we only had a small number of our singers at our May practice and Mass, so here’s your chance to make amends by many more of you coming to our 28th May practice and 2nd June Mass! It’s the feast of Corpus Christi, so let’s try to celebrate this lovely feast day in full force. If there are any parishioners who would like to come and sing with us, you will be made very welcome.
“Billy-The-Dog’s” Essex Adventure for Christian Aid Week 2024:
Billy is getting really excited about his fundraising for Christian Aid: lots of bouncing up and down and tail wagging when we chat about it. This year he will be exploring ancient country churches in Essex, and also barking at rabbits. He will visit a different church on each day in Christian Aid Week, 12-18th May, starting with the oldest wooden church in Europe: St. Andrews Church, Greensted. Iain and Billy will be around after masses this weekend if you would like to sponsor Billy, or you can go through JustGiving by searching for “Loughton Christian Aid” and making a donation. If you do that please mention Billy in your comment, he loves that.
BCCS Bear – an update!
As mentioned previously, our Parish Choir and Contemporary Music Group are this year supporting the Brentwood Catholic Children’s Society by collecting money from time to time in a BCCS box, encouraged by our cute BCCS bear mascot!
Fr Adrian has kindly agreed that we can shake the box after the 6pm, 9am and 11am masses on 25th and 26th May. If any parishioners would like to support our two choirs’ efforts by putting something in the box, this would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance and, later on, we’ll let you know how we’re getting on!
GIFT AID NOTICE : Any parishioner who currently receives a gift aid letter; please can you email Abbie our gift aid coordinator abbie.akinfenwa@btinternet.com.with your current email address for any future correspondence. Thank you.
