Message from Father Adrian

I have now completed the civic duty that has required my time over the past few weeks. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this period, and my sincere thanks, also, to all those who led and facilitated our weekday services whilst I was away.

God bless,

Fr. Adrian

We will next be singing and playing at the 11am Mass on Sunday, 6th September.

Hopefully, everyone will be back from holiday, so it would be good to have a great turnout of singers!

(We’ll not be having a practice beforehand as our usual practice evening will be a Bank Holiday).

It would be lovely if new singers from our Parish could join our friendly group – simply join us in the Choir loft before Mass starts and you will be made very welcome!

Birthday Celebrations Save the Date: Our parish was founded 100 years ago this year, and we are planning a Mass and social event to celebrate on Sunday 13 September 2026. Please save the date for a beautiful celebration of our parish and all that means as a place of faith and community.

SVP 2026 Summer Raffle: We are delighted to announce the launch of the St Vincent de Paul 2026 Summer Raffle. This valuable fundraising initiative raised a record-breaking £95,000 nationally last year, enabling the Society to turn concern into action and provide practical support to those facing loneliness, isolation and the daily struggles of poverty in all its forms.

Tickets will be on sale the weekend of  29th & 30th August 2026 after each Mass through SVP volunteers at £1 per ticket or £5 per book.

The draw will take place on 24 September 2026, with prizes including £5,000 (1st prize)

£1,000 (2nd prize) and 15 prizes of £100

Parishioners who wish to sell tickets to family, friends or colleagues are very welcome to do so; please speak to an SVP member so we can record the allocation of books and ensure everything is processed correctly. All counterfoils and money must be returned to the SVP head office by

14 September 2026, so we kindly ask that any external sales are completed in good time.

Please note: there is a small typo on the raffle tickets showing the year as 2025 instead of 2026, but please be assured that all tickets will still be accepted. Thank you for your support. SVP Loughton.

First Holy Communion Programme Registration Forms: One of the most important things we learn as disciples of Jesus is that he calls each of us into a deep and loving friendship with him.

One of the greatest gifts he gives us to nurture and strengthen that friendship is the Eucharist, where we receive Him in Holy Communion. In our parish we begin preparing children for this special sacrament in Year 4 (ages 8–9), helping them to grow in their understanding of God’s love and in their relationship with Jesus.

Registration forms for our First Holy Communion programme are now available at the back of the Church for children in Year 4 and above (minimum age 8). The closing date for applications is

30 September 2026. Please take a registration form  and return it to the parish office by this date. We ask that you also provide a copy of your child’s baptism certificate when submitting the form.

There will be a meeting for parents in November, and our formation sessions will begin during Advent as we journey together towards this important milestone in your child’s faith. We are very much looking forward to accompanying our children and families through this year’s programme as we help guide our young people in growing closer to the Lord. Over the coming months, we encourage you to begin talking with your children about Jesus’ presence in the Eucharist and what it means to receive him in Holy Communion. It can also be a wonderful opportunity to share your own memories of your First Holy Communion and reflect together on what the Eucharist means in your own life of faith. If you have any questions, then please contact Fr. Adrian.

Right to Life Leadbeater 2 letter to MPs at the back of the church:  Please take this opportunity to contact your MP, urgently, asking them to vote against this Leadbeater 2 Bill, and to stop this cruel plan to kill the old, ill, and vulnerable in our country. Your letter will make a big difference in the vote  on 11 September .You can also go online righttolife.org.uk to support. Thank you.

Gift Aid End of Tax Year Statements:

If you are a member of the Gift Aid scheme and provided an email address, you will have received your statement by email. If we do not hold an email address for you, please check the envelopes at the back of the church. If you can share an email address, that would help reduce the effort and cost of generating the statements. If there are any discrepancies in your statement or you have not received an email or envelope, please let Abbie know via email at giftaid-loughton@brcdt.org or by text/phone call to 07754700934 including your gift aid number.
