The Brentwood Catholic Children’s Society
on Saturday 13th September there will be a sponsored walk held jointly with Woodford Parish for BCCS. It starts from The Becket Centre at St Thomas’s at 9.30am. To participate you just need to be there at 9.30am to register. Sponsorship forms can be obtained from Iain McLay (bloggeriain@gmail.com) or just pick one up when you register for the walk on the day. It is great fun, dogs welcome, and it raises lots of money for BCCS, so they can do theirwonderful work with young peoples’ emotional and mental health in the diocese, irrespective of their religion. Matters are moving fast with a debate on Leadbeater Assisted Dying and Antoniazzi
Abortion to birth on September 12.There is Template letter on the parish website & at the back of the Church encouraging parishioners to write to the Lords requesting & appealing to consider voting against both pieces of legislation; neither of which was on the governments Manifesto, which enables the peers to vote against both Antoniazzi and Leadbeater.

CAFOD: Response in Gaza
Your donations to Gaza since the start of the conflict have been a vital lifeline. Right now, CAFOD’s partner, Caritas Jerusalem, is delivering essential medical treatment to displaced people and providing medicines to treat chronic illnesses. We have helped 1,400 households with cash to buy supplies in the last month and we are currently feeding 2,000 people with new stocks of flour and rice. Despite the restrictions on aid coming into Gaza, CAFOD’s local partners are working tirelessly to help people. And with your ongoing support, they will do all in their power to keep doing so. You can find out more about how you can make a difference in Gaza at cafod.org.uk. Thank you for backing our work through holding collections for our Family Fast Day appeals and for continuing to pray for peacein the Middle East.
